Earnings, earnings, and bidding wars?!? Here's the list:
- The following stocks reported after the bell today - I'm watching for any significant moves: Sovereign Bancorp Inc. (SOV) beat by 1-cent exluding charges, Amdocs Limited (DOX) beat by 3-cents, Washington Mutual Inc. (WM) missed earnings by 11-cents; SOV closed at $25.01, DOX closed at $34.44, WM closed at $43.73
- The following stocks are reporting before the bell tomorrow morning - I'm watching for any surprises: Bank of New York Company Inc. (BK), UnitedHealth Group Inc. (UNH), BB&T Corporation (BBT), Harley-Davidson Inc. (HOG), SLM Corporation (SLM), Novartis AG (NVS) (NVS was also awarded a bird-flu contract by the US government today)
- Vornado Realty Trust made a takeover bid for Equity Office Properties Trust (EOP) in after-hours...Vornado's bid for the company makes it's proposal better than the one from Blackstone Group...I'm watching to see where this bidding war will go
- I'll continue to watch Caremark Rx Inc. (CMX) as it has it's own bidding war going on by CVS Corp and Express Scripts Inc; CMX closed at $58.40
- The Mills Corporation (MLS) was up big today after it announced that a hedge fund has infused it with cash after MLS said last week it might file for bankruptcy protection; MLS was up over 26% today; MLS closed at $22.46
- It was reported in after-hours that GE may buy an Abbott Labratories (ABT) unit; ABT was up strong today so I'll see where it goes from here; ABT closed at $51.55
