After an exhausting long weekend (I helped re-paint my parents kitchen), I came in the office today a little weary.

For a brief moment this morning, I kinda forgot my trading rules and what exactly I was looking for and how I was going to do it.

So I scaled back my position sizes yet again today, just as sort of a warm-up. Usually after a long weekend, I feel as though I'm a little rusty, a little slow, and I tend to forget some of the things I was trying to work on the week before.

Aside from that, there's really not much to tell you about...I finally put on a good trade (a trade in which I make $200 or more)....it seemed like it was a long time ago since I've had one.

After a quick start to the morning, I found myself losing practically everything.

Around midday, I found myself getting annoyed and frustrated and even though there was a nice overall move to the downside at around 2PM, I still managed to lose money.

I made some of it back, but only after a couple of aggravating trades.

During the day, Dynergy (DYN) seemed to thicken up (i.e. sizes on the bid and ask got bigger) and as a result, I took a few 5000 and 6000 share positions on it, but without very much success.

But overall, I kept my position sizes small and I mostly just traded 1000 share positions today.

Anyways, gonna keep this short....as you can see, there was no weekend reading this past weekend (as mentioned earlier, I was at my parents house re-painting their kitchen and I had to take some time to do my taxes), which means that this weekend will be a 2-for-1 weekend reading (hope you all have lots of extra time this weekend for all that reading!).

Now that I'm all warmed up, let's see what tomorrow brings!

Good Trades
(trades in which I make $200 or more)
  • 9:32:21AM - Dynergy (DYN) opened strong and when each level seemed to melt away, I waited for the $10.30 level to melt away. When it did, I went long 2000 shares and DYN($251 profit before fees ; Long 2000 shares @ $10.30 ; Out: Didn't record)
quickly popped up...I got out as follows: 9-cent winner (1000 shares), 16-cent winner (900 shares), 17-cent winner (100 shares)

Bad Trades
(trades in which I lose $150 or more)

  • Hey JC,

Since you brought it up....how is that tax preparation going? :)

You could not have possibly gotten it all done in one weekend!

    :)

I went the extension route..procrastination nation here..

  • Linda,
Thanks for your comments. Heheheh....not quite done yet...I spent most of my time trying to figure things out and trying to find out which forms I have to fill out. I'm going to call them as well to see if I can get an extension :) Eventually I'll figure it out....eventually.... :)
