On Tap For Fri Dec 15, 2006
I'm watching these stocks:
- Worthington Industries Inc. (WOR) was up 11% today after a Prudential report identified it as a likely takeover target by Mittal Steel
- Weyerhaeuser Company (WY) was up big today - I didn't really find any news for the move (just a new Sr. VP named and a closing of a mill); take a look at an intraday chart...lots of buying starting around 1PM today
- Quiksilver Inc. (ZQK) reported after the close today (reported in-line) - it's trading up in after-hours...I'm watching to see if it can get through resistance around the $15.25 area
- Home Depot Inc (HD) also made a strong move up today after it announced it bought a chain of stores in China; in after-hours it stated it was buying back $3 billion in shares...I'm watching to see how far it can go beyond $40.00
- I know it's Ugly's (or the chartist formerly known as Ugly) new favorite stock - American Express Company (AXP) simply exploded past resistance it had been working on for about a month at $60.00 - I'm watching to see where it goes from here
- United Technologies Corporation (UTX) lowered guidance today and it was down in today's trading session
- I had a fun time trading ConocoPhillips (COP) today - it broke through it's 52-week high and looked very strong...let see how much higher it can go
- I'll also keep a close eye on the following stocks: Citigroup Inc. (C) (new 52-week high, more market chatter), Celanese Corp (CE) (was strong today), US Bancorp (USB) (almost, but couldn't break the $36.00 level today), Peabody Energy Corp (BTU) (down 3% today despite being upgraded, watching the $43.00 level), General Electric Company (GE) (watching to see if it can get past resistance around the $36.25 - $36.50 area)
