On Tap For Wed Feb 7, 2007

The following are some of the NYSE stocks that I will be keeping an eye on and possibly trading tomorrow. Obviously there may be news on other stocks that come out overnight or in the morning, so I may be trading those stocks as well.

The list:
  • The following are stocks that are reporting before the open tomorrow (please note that these are not all the stocks that are reporting tomorrow - just the ones I'm watching):

  • The following are stocks that reported after the close today and were moving in after-hours trade (please note that these are not all the stocks that reported after the close - just the ones I'm watching tomorrow):
Lincoln National Corporation (LNC) - up in after-hours
Cameco Corporation (CCJ) - down in after-hours
CB Richard Ellis Group Inc (CBG) - down in after-hours
Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC)* - up in after-hours
BHP Billiton Limited (BHP) - up in after-hours

  • Lear Corporation (LEA) continued to move up today after it's board was advised to reject Icahn's bid for the company, saying that the offer price was too low; LEA was up over 5% in today's trading after an upgrade and a suggestion that a buyout offer could go as high as $60/share; LEA closed at $40.62 and made new 52-week highs today
  • I'm going to continue to watch National-Oilwell Varco Inc. (NOV) as it was up over 9% today after it announced earnings; it's approaching resistance at $68 and that will be a level I will be watching with interest; NOV closed at $65.68
  • I'll also quickly take a look at a stock I used to trade a lot in the past - Corning Incorporated (GLW)* was up strong today on no news that I could find; it closed around a resistance area, so I'll just see what it does from here; GLW closed at $22.37
  • Titanium Metals Corp (TIE) was another stock that was strong today and it managed to close above resistance at $34; I'm watching to see where it goes tomorrow; TIE closed at $34.94

Please note that those stocks denoted with a * and highlighted green indicate that they are on the SHO Pilot List which means you can short them on a downtick.
