On Tap For Mon Dec 18, 2006
Here are a few stocks I'm watching tomorrow:
- Harrah's Entertainment Inc. (HET) is close to being bought out by a private equity group and there are reports that HET may be bought out for at least $90 a share; the board continues to meet on whether to agree
- The Shaw Group Inc. (SGR) are one of the owners of Westinghouse, which agreed on the weekend to build 4 nuclear reactors for China - Bloomberg says the deal may be worth $5.3 billion
- Terex Corporation (TEX) will be added to the S&P 500 on Tuesday and will be replacing Navistar
- Monsanto Company (MON) burst past resistance and made new 52-week highs on Friday after Goldman Sachs upgraded the stock
- The Goodyear Tire And Rubber Company (GT) looked strong on Friday as it made new 52-week highs
- ConocoPhillips (COP) was noted in Barron's over the weekend as being a bargain stock compared to others in its sector
- Honeywell International Inc. (HON) has had two strong trading days after it reported last week - I'm watching to see if it can break out of this trading range
- The Black & Decker Corporation (BDK) was down almost 9% on Friday after reporting disappointing results
- Tektronics Inc. (TEK) was also down big on Friday after it also reported disappointing results
- AT&T Inc. (T) said late Friday that it was boosting it's dividend - it made new 52-week highs on Friday, but couldn't quite break the $36.00 level
- Here are some other stocks I'm keeping an eye on: General Electric Company (GE) (if strength continues, I'm adopting a new trading strategy on it), and Citigroup Inc. (C) (continues to look very strong)
