On Tap For Thu Jan 4, 2007

The following are some of the NYSE stocks that I will be keeping an eye on and possibly trading tomorrow. Obviously there may be news on other stocks that come out overnight or in the morning, so I may be trading those stocks as well.

Here it is:
  • Both Constellation Brands Inc. (STZ) and Monsanto Company (MON) will be reporting before the bell tomorrow...watch for any surprises; STZ closed at $28.40 and MON closed at $51.68
  • Blockbuster Inc. (BBI) had a nice pop up today as it announced it reached 2 million online users and made new 52-week highs today; BBI closed at $5.64
  • The Men's Wearhouse Inc. (MW) re-affirmed Q4 EPS during after-hours...I'm watching to see if there is any reaction in tomorrow's trade; MW closed at $38.34
  • I'm still watching The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company (GT) as it looked strong today and made new 52-week highs amid an upgrade and a price target increase by Deutche Bank; GT closed at $22.80
  • Alcatel-Lucent (ALU) had a strong day as well...I'll be closely watching this one tomorrow; ALU closed at $15.19
  • The airline stocks were strong today, in particular, Continental Airlines Inc. (CAL) and AMR Corporation (AMR)...I'll watch to see where they go tomorrow; CAL closed at $43.97 and AMR closed at $32.86
  • With oil down big-time today, a lot of the oil-related stocks took a hit...though I'm reluctant to trade oil stocks directly (I constantly lose money on them), I'm willing to trade oil-related stocks such as Weatherford International Ltd. (WFT) (provides services and equipment for production of oil and natural gas); WFT was down big along with anything else oil related and I'm watching to see where it goes tomorrow; WFT closed at $38.67
  • Advanced Micro Devices Inc. (AMD) punched through support at $20.00 after Goldman downgraded it along with several other semiconductor stocks; AMD closed at $19.52
