Monthly Review Roundup For February 2007

On a monthly basis, several bloggers review their trading and I thought it would be a good idea to try to collect them all and put them together in one post-of-links.

Many give great insights into the past month of trading and it's great to see what various bloggers have learned and the difficulties some of us had.

By doing this, I hope that readers out there can learn or perhaps even relate to what we, as trading bloggers, went through during the past month.

I have a feeling that February was moving along just fine for most trading bloggers out there. But then came the big fall in the markets and with volatility way up, some of us took a hit, thus affecting some of our numbers (mine included).

During the last few days of February, volatility has been way up, so I hope all of you out there can adjust your trading accordingly! Here's this month's review roundup:

• TraderGav seems to be getting back on track and considering he took one week of in February, he did well in almost achieving his monthly target

• Dave at StockTickr also did a great job and even though the number of trades he did was low, he was close in achieving 10R on the month

• I just wish my "profit distribution days" chart looks like ZBS's as he had his best month ever in February and made $14500+ for the month! Way to go ZBS!

• Tyro continues working on his new trading strategy and despite his profits coming off their highs during the month, he still finished up 4.5R

• HighChartPatterns highlight their February as they continued to adjust their stop-losses on their trades

• Lord Tedders at the Forex and eMini Futures blog also was very close in achieving his goal in February and managed to capture 15.4 points, just shy of his goal of 20 points

• Brian at Trade 4 Cash was cruising along just fine in February...until the last few days, however he learned a couple of lessons and is making adjustments accordingly, which I think every good trader should do

• Luka also had it tough in February (just like quite a few of us), but he is still up for the year

• Richard at MoveTheMarkets does a great February review in which he didn't trade much, which might be a good thing and sure beats losing money

• Bill at NoDooDahs had a good win-to-loss ratio on his closed positions in February and he still maintains some really good open positions

• I love how UglyChart calls his automated trading system (ATS) that "Damn Thing" and in February, Ugly ran into many problems with The Damn Thing and continues to configure it for March

• Caravaggio at The 3500 shows us his results on a week-by-week basis and is still up on the year as he continues to adjust his trading plan accordingly

• Phileo really takes a real hard look at his trading in a month that was profitable, but costly mistakes hampered his progress

• Lastly, there's me, who was all good and dandy coming up to the last few trading days in February...but then my trading simply fell apart and I ended the month with only marginal improvements in terms of profits

Trader Monthly Review Roundup For January 2007

On a monthly basis, several bloggers review their trading and I thought it would be a good idea to try to collect them all and put them together in one post-of-links.

Many give great insights into the past month of trading and it's great to see what various bloggers have learned and the difficulties some of us had. By doing this, I hope that readers out there can learn or perhaps even relate to what we, as trading bloggers, went through during the past month.

Last month I couldn't find the time to collect everyone's performance (what with all the holidays and such). But it's that time of the month again, so here's this month's roundup:

• HighChartPatterns continued to use newly defined stops and increased their win-rate in an average month for them

• TraderGav also continues to work on his new trading plan and managed some gains in January

• Luka did well in outperforming the indices in January

• Jan at the StockMarketBlog did really well in January with close to a 36% gain

• Lord Tedders at the Forex and eMini Futures Trading blog does an excellent job of reviewing his January as he posted gains

• Bill at NoDooDahs keeps it going and posted gains yet again in January
  

• Dogwood over at the Dogwood Report found it rather difficult in January, but does a great job of reviewing the lessons he's learned during the month

• Stockcoach posted a $41,000+ gains in his portfolio in January

• Brian at Trade4Cash also made some gains and lists his trades he did in January

• Richard at MoveTheMarkets improved upon his performance compared to the previous month and in January he gained over 13R

• Phileo reviews his January with his diverse types of trades in which he traded options, equities (both Canadian and US) and Futures

• Caravaggio at The 3500 also does his review for January

• Skyb0x posted gains in January along with the lessons learned during the month

• I really like the way Boogster puts it out there...it's straight to the point, short and sweet

• GlobeTrader also reviews his January along with some of the things he's working on to improve (thanks Caravaggio for the heads up!)

• Phil over at Phil's Stock World posted great gains in January with an average of a 65% gain on their positions
  

• Finally there's me...continuing to improve upon some new things I'm doing with my trading and considering I took so many days off in January, I was rather pleased with the result

So with that, here is November 2006's "Trader Monthly Review Roundup":

Bill reviews his returns for November.

Richard managed to just eek out a gain and keep his winning streak alive.

Zoomie had a good month, even though only 25% of his trades were for winners.

Shadowtrader posted a gain in his portfolio...question is, will he be able to outpeform the indices with one month left?

Trader ZBS keeps his consistency going and posted another $10K for the month of November.

Tyro found it kind of tough in November and shows us his monthly review with lots of charts and graphs.

Ugly also found it a little rough in November, but was able to turn it around near the end.

Dave had a much better month in November than in October.

Jan's portfolio at Stock Market Blog posted an 18.55% gain.

Bullish Jim just started posting his monthly review and posted a gain in his portfolio in November.

Luka had a great November and managed a 10.26% rise in his portfolio.

Downtowntrader posted close to a 30 R gain in November.

Of course, there's me - still down in the dumps, with a slight improvement over October.
